KELHAM HALL TRANSFORMATION GETS UNDERWAY

After ASG Finance financed the purchase at the end of last November, the conversion of the magnificent Kelham Hall has now started.

Having previously been a private home, council headquarters and theological college, the Nottinghamshire mansion will reopen next winter with 40 hotel bedrooms, redesigned gardens and a new drive entrance.

Jonathan Pass, the new owner, purchased the Grade I listed building from Newark and Sherwood District Council, before obtaining planning permission for the conversion this past autumn and exchanging contracts over the festive period. The aim for the completion to be done by is December 2018.

Those currently working on the redevelopment will certainly have a big job on their hands, as England’s last-discovered stately home is predictably the largest building for quite some distance. It is even said to take an hour to walk around and a full day to visit every room.

This has been a real dream project for Jonathan, so the team here at ASG Finance is pleased to help bring it to reality with our finance solutions. He told the Nottingham Post that “you drive through the village and see the hall and you think, ‘wow!’ You have to have a passion in life.”
